
Placement at LifeBridge is temporary with the goal of successfully transitioning students back to their home school.
Requirements
To be considered for the LifeBridge Academy program a student must:
Have an IQ of 70 or above.
Be between the ages of 11 and 18.
Have completed grade 5 or above.
Have a disability category on an IEP of Other Health Impaired (OHI), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), or Emotional Disability (ED).
Have emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges that have prevented success in other, less-restrictive school environments.
Have been in a more restrictive setting like a residential setting or acute hospital and now need a “step-down” educational placement before returning their LEA.
Be eligible for the ISAEP (GED) program
Exclusionary Criteria
Students are not eligible for admission if they:
Are age 10 or younger
Are age 20 or older
Are in grade 5 or below
Have an IEP with a disability category other than ED, SLD, or OHI
Have already earned a Standard High School Diploma or GED
Exhibit behaviors that cannot be maintained safely in the LifeBridge Academy school environment
Have an IQ of 69 or lower
